However, due to regional limitations and cultural differences, this attention often carries a sense of mysticism and curiosity, and some perceptions may differ. From the perspective of product cognitive accuracy and positive impact on the industry, the internationally prevalent impression of Pu’er tea has been classified as follows: inaccurate but positive, inaccurate but not positive, accurate but not positive. Italian Tea Poet in China – Simone Chiatante

Simone Chiatante comes from Brindisi, a coastal city in southern Italy. Since 2017, he has been living in China, working at a language training institution. In his spare time, Simone is passionate about literature and poetry. He has published four books, including his own poetry collections and translations of books with local characteristics. Influenced by the tea culture of Chaoshan, one of his poetry collections is specifically themed around tea. Another tea-related work is his translation of Weng Huidong’s Chaozhou Book of Tea.

Dutch Tea People work in Japanese Tea Gardens – Marjolein Raijmakers

Marjolein Raijmakers is from the Netherlands in Europe, but her love for tea led her to work and live in Japan, Asia. Growing up in a multicultural environment surrounded by diverse tea cultures, Marjolein gradually developed a deep interest in the tea industry. She learned about tea through training programs and international tea tours, combining theory with practice. Marjolein worked for three years at a well-established Dutch tea and coffee brand, primarily as shop assistant and handling online orders. From 2023 to the present, she has lived in Nagasaki, Japan, where she is responsible for developing international tea tourism and promoting sales of Nagasaki regions’ teas for Nagasaki Ikedoki Tea. In 2025, Marjolein participated in an international tea processing training program organized by the China Tea Science Society and a tea tour arranged by Tea Times magazine. She cherishes this learning opportunity and hopes that they take the lead in teaching accurate knowledge about Chinese tea worldwide, while looking forward to the future development of Chinese tea.

South American tea producing regions – Argentine Blended Tea

Jorgelina Lezcano and her husband founded the blended tea brand Motivos in Argentina, using loose tea grown and processed in Argentina as the main ingredient, and its sales have continued to grow over the past five years. Yerba Mate tea is the national drink of Argentina, while afternoon tea customs and tea tree cultivation were only introduced to Argentina by European immigrants in the 19th and 20th centuries. Argentine tea farmers have always sold fresh leaves to major producers and processed them into broken tea for export. Since 2010, some tea plantation owners have begun to experiment with independent processing and production of tea products, and have established an association to develop supporting industries such as tourism in tea gardens.

Marten Verch works for food related books and is currently employed by a publishing house in Hamburg, Germany. He has work experience in tea trading companies in Hamburg and the German Tea Association. In recent years, Marten has started planting tea trees and has plans to expand tea gardens in the future. He expressed his expectations for the development of Hamburg tea culture, while sharing his understanding of the significance of the German Tea Association in the industry, as well as the opportunities and challenges that tea brands need to face in expanding overseas markets.

“Tea Journey” Magazine – Legendary Figure Dan Bolton

Dan Bolton worked as a professional journalist in North America for fifty years, including thirty years as an editor and publisher of food and beverage magazines. In 2010, Dan and his wife Susan settled in Winnipeg, Canada, Susan’s hometown. In 2015, he formed a team based on his previous experience and network in publishing magazines, and obtained funding through an online crowdfunding platform. In June 2016, the magazine “Tea Journey” was officially released as a 150 page print publication and online format. Since its inception, the magazine has successfully transitioned from traditional paper printing to online reading. Dan encourages tea journalists and experts who write for the publication to create and provide personal suggestions for the internationalization strategy of tea brands.

Liu Rui, who started modeling at the age of 16, had a very successful modeling career and won numerous awards. Since falling in love with drinking tea, she has opened up a new direction in her life. During her study abroad in London, she worked part-time as a model and accidentally brought tea and tea culture from her hometown of Guizhou into the international fashion circle. Berlin Shared Space C*Space – POP-UP Tea House

Katja Hellkötter and Jan Siefke, the Germans who have lived in Hong Kong and Shanghai for many years, are international cooperation expert and photographer respectively. Katja won the Shanghai City Silver Magnolia Award in 2012. In 2015, they opened a co-working creative project workspace C*Space in Berlin, Germany. Freelancers, artists, companies or associations can rent this space to organize corresponding activities. Guo Yitao, from Hainan, China, completed her undergraduate and master’s studies in international trade management in France. The master’s thesis is to analyze the international brand strategy of Chinese tea brands, and propose some solutions for Chinese tea brands to enter the international market. In 2021, she officially started to make her own tea brand, Jiangnan Art, which is mainly aimed at the international market and adopts online promotion and sales. Her promotional videos are very popular, and the social media platform has more than 140000 fans.
